Summer 2011
Child's Play: Tales and Crafts at the Anderson Barn History Center is a great summer activity for children. Organized by teacher and long-time Ephraim Historical Foundation member, Barbara Fox, this fun reading activity is designed for children, grandchildren, and visiting friends ages 4 and above.
Four sessions take place over the summer from the beginning of July through mid-August, Tuesdays, July 5, July 19, August 2 and August 16, 10:30 am at the Anderson Barn History Center.
Children read a book and then participate making a fun arts and crafts project based on the book.
Topics for the 2011 Season
Tuesday, July 5 -- Horton Hatches an Egg by Dr. Seuss. Craft-- Painting ceramic eggs.
Tuesday, July 19 -- Stellaluna by Janell Cannon. Craft-- Making a bat mask.
Tuesday, August 2 -- Library Lion by Michelle Knudsen. Craft-- Creating a keepsake box with a lion's face on the cover.
Tuesday, August 16- Boxes for Katje by Candace Fleming. Craft-- Creating flower pots (and recipe for play dough)
Advance registration for Child's Play is encouraged, as many sessions fill up quickly. The cost to attend is $5 per child, and can be paid either in advance or when the child arrives at the session that morning. The sessions last approximately one hour.
