Volunteer Opportunities

The Ephraim Historical Foundation needs volunteers to help us run our many programs each summer! There are also plenty of non-program related opportunities to help out, too. Students can use their volunteer hours toward community service requirements, as appropriate for their school. Please take a look at the Volunteer Opportunities for this year and consider donating a few hours of your time. Thank you!

If you would like to volunteer for any of these activities, click here to contact us .

Event Photographer
Take digital or film photos to record and document the many Foundation sponsored events this season. Pictures will be used for our publications, publicity and archives. We'll set up a schedule that works for you and provide the card or film. Be "the guy or gal with the camera"!

"Child's Play: Tales & Crafts" Helpers
A new event this summer for children ages 5-8. Dates are Thursday mornings; June 28, July 12, July 19, and August 2 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Anderson Barn History Center. Choose one or more dates to help Barb Fox with the reading and craft activities and come enjoy being with the children!

VHS to DVD transfer
Help preserve archival recordings by transferring old VHS tapes to DVD. We'll show you how (mechanical aptitude NOT required) and let you schedule yourself. Easy, convenient, and good for rainy days.

Children's Day Help
The Foundation's half-day of fun for children includes crafts, learning games, and snacks! The theme for 2007 is Door County Arts. Station helpers and group leaders needed -- be part of the excitement that is Children's Day!

Anderson Store Docent or Counter Person
Assist our paid staff person by acting as a docent and / or manning the counter and selling items to our visitors. The Store can be a busy place and we need two people there all the time. We will train you and work out a schedule. The store is open Tues-Sat. 11:00am-4:00pm. Come spend time with the visitors that stop by our special store!

Historic Iverson House Docents
Supplement our paid staff by taking a morning or afternoon to share this remarkable building and its story with our visitors. Script, costume, and training provided. Challenging, but immensely rewarding. Great opportunity for someone that loves to talk and visit!

Docent Partners
Big desire to be involved but short on time? Support the Foundation's efforts in staffing the buildings with paid docents. Make a donation and join this very successful effort, started in 2005, that helps keep our Museums open to the public.

Poster & Brochure Stocker
If you want to help get the word out about all the Ephraim Village Museums have to offer, this task is for you! The Ephraim area is the main focus, but we also cover other distribution outlets such as banks, libraries, and grocery stores. We'll give you a list of locations, you simply drop off materials!

Office Help
We're always looking for help with mailings, maintaining the clip file, and copying. Whether you have several hours each week to spare or several hours a month, we'd appreciate any help you'd be willing to give!
